Renew America Together Announces Third Cohort for the Civility Leadership Institute

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (June 1, 2023)— Renew America Together is pleased to announce the participants for the third cohort of the Civility Leadership Institute (CLI). Each year, 30 participants from around the country come together to engage in a year of learning, professional development, and co-creating solutions to societal problems through CLI. This year’s cohort is comprised of individuals hailing from 19 different states representing a wide variety of professions.

“One of the unique strengths of the Civility Leadership Institute is different perspectives that each of the participants bring to the table,” said General (ret.) Wesley K. Clark, founder of Renew America Together. “This sets the tone for understanding and growth from individuals who may not see eye-to-eye on common topics.”

CLI’s goal is to help participants foster the skills needed to create common understanding and grow leaders who can navigate an increasingly polarized world. This year-long program is broken up into two, six-month sections— six months of learning and six months of enrichment and measurement. Applicants are carefully reviewed and chosen by a committee.

“Each participant was specifically selected based on the potential impact they will ripple back into their community. We’re proud of the work accomplished by our previous cohorts of CLI and know that our third class will be no exception,” said Secretary Rodney Slater, board chairman, Renew America Together.

The third cohort will kick-off with an in-person Civility Summit conference in Little Rock, Arkansas, July 19-21st. The Civility Summit will feature special guests including Olympic gold medalist, Jackie Joyner-Kersee who will speak to the CLI community as well as engage in a service project in collaboration with the Boys and Girls Club of Central Arkansas.
